Keene and Gulbis were named MVP`s of october


Most valuable player award of october goes for Marcus Keene (BC Kalev/Cramo) in Estonia and Māris Gulbis (BK Ventspils) in Latvia. 

25-year-old and 175 cm tall Keene averaged 22,3 points, 4,7 rebounds and 5 assits in three games in october. His best performance was in the 106:89 victory over Tallinna Kalev/TLÜ when he scored 26 points, dished out 5 assists and grabbed 3 rebounds. Kalev/Cramo won all three games last month. 


In 2016/17 season, Keene was the best scorer in NCAA I division as he scored 30 points per game for the Central Michigan University. He has also played in the NBA G League, Italia Serie A2 and in Korea and Taiwan. 


In Latvia the MVP award went to 35-year-old power forward Māris Gulbis. 201 cm tall Latvian went for 29,4 points and 6,4 rebounds per game. Ventspils recorded 5 wins and one loss in october. They only got defeated by VEF Riga (93:96).


Gulbis has played for Ventspils from 2013. In the 2018/19 season he led the team for the very first trophy of Estonian-Latvian Basketball League. In the final game against VEF he scored 21 points along with 6 rebounds and he averaged 12,3 points and 4,4 rebounds that season. Last season which was cancelled due to corona virus outbreak, Gulbis was averaging 12,3 points and 3,3 rebounds per game.
